Dr. Jasmine Elmore is an award-winning practitioner.  The 2018 Most Outstanding DDS of the Decade Award winner at VCU School of Dentistry, she is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist, a Certified Specialist in Orofacial Myology, and is one of a few people in the world to have a Professional Degree in the Science of Breathing Behavior.  She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the Virginia Commonwealth School of Dentistry and completed a postgraduate Pediatric Dental Medicine Residency program at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.  Dr. Elmore is the first ever dual-trained mini-resident proctored by both Drs Chelsea Pinto and Soroush Zaghi at The Breathe Institute.  Her interest in helping babies with feeding challenges due to oral restrictions turned into an undeniable passion after learning that she is an adult who suffers from the lasting effects of undiagnosed tongue + lip ties, mouth breathing, and sleep disordered breathing issues that trace back to early, undiagnosed feeding challenges.

Dr. Elmore posing with Dr Lawrence Masters, whose teachings left such an impact on her life that she created a scholarship in his honor at VCU School of Dentistry.

Dr. Elmore is a leading philanthropist. Only three years removed from graduating from dental school, she pledged two $7,500 gifts to the dentists of our future.  The Dr. Jasmine R. Elmore Scholarship and the Dr. Lawrence Masters Scholarship, named for Larry Masters, D.D.S. (D.D.S.’73/D), a mentor of Elmore’s who retired from the school recently, were inspired by her deep appreciation for the scholarships she received while a student.  Dr Elmore currently owns a pediatric dental office in rural North Carolina that caters to the specific needs of low-income and underserved families.  Through her community leadership, she has donated her time and resources to dozens of charities.  She even co-founded a youth basketball team in her hometown that helps youth ages 7-18 to strive towards the betterment of character, confidence, leadership skills, mental and physical fitness.

Dr. Elmore is a leader called upon by leaders.  She is a member of many too many dental societies to name, and is currently the North Carolina Chapter President and Liaison of the American Academy of Physiological Medicine and Dentistry.  She is on the Advisory Board of the Airway Circle and hosts a weekly show on Clubhouse where she educates airway providers nationwide.  She is a sought-after public speaker and has a book release planned this Winter 2021.
